REPAIR HOLES IN QUAYWALL BETWEEN PIERS 3 & 4

Naval Base San Diego, Ca

2013

SCOPE OF WORK

C & W Diving was contracted to perform cleaning, inspection, fabricate and install forms for holes in PZ-27 type sheet pile that make up quaywall between piers 3 & 4 at Naval Base san Diego.

REQUIREMENTS

A dive crew mobilized to Naval Base San Diego and began inspection of the steel sheet pile that made up the quaywall between piers 3 & 4. The space between the steel sheet and the concrete sheet pile was originally thought to have a cementius type fill but this had been eroded and C&W’s crew was required to prepare the forms for underwater grouting operations.

Once forms were all placed and valves attached to forms grout was poured in three lifts to ensure that it cured properly, rock pockets and spalling were minimized. C&W performed all work under projected contract scheduling time frame in a professsional and efficient manner.
