PROJECTS (2007)

April - September 2007
Puddingstone Dam
San Dimas, CA

C&W worked with the Los Angeles County to make repairs to the intake structures at Puddingstone Dam. Ladders, landings, and fall protection were implemented in the control shaft, repairs were made to the intake tunnel lining, and the existing slide gates were replaced with a Rodney Hunt cast-iron slide gate. C&W collaborated with Triton Engineers to design a steel dewatering bulkhead for the intake tunnel, utilizing its extensive experience with flow control methods and knowledge in value engineering. C&W subcontractor Beard Electric installed the electric motor operator and associated electrical equipment.

July - August 2007
Barrett Lake Dredging
Dulzura, CA

C&W worked with Orion Construction Corp. to replace valves at the Barrett Lake dam. More than 300 cubic yards of silt upstream of the dam were dredged using a submersible Toyo pump supported by a four-point anchor Flexi-Float barge, allowing C&W divers to locate and seal 30" and 16" valves previously hidden below the mud line. C&W has worked with the city of San Diego to implement a BMP (Best Management Practices) and SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) that protects water quality at the lake.
