CTB AND SALM BARGE CLEANING/ANODE PLACEMENT

SCOPE OF WORK
C&W Diving was contracted to perform cleaning and
anode placement on CTB and SALM barges located at
Coronado Amphibious Naval base
REQUIREMENTS
A C&W dive crew mobilized to Coronado naval station
and began cleaning the CTB and SALM barges. The crew
utilized a diver operated hydraulic scrubber to expedite
the process and remove the hard growth.
Once both barges were cleaned and checked a diver was
sent in to weld 20 anodes on the SALM barge.

PLATFORM ELLY MARINE GROWTH REMOVAL & CP ANODE
INSPECTION
SCOPE OF WORK
C&W performed marine growth removal operations on
platform Ellen for Beta Offshore. The work performed is
part of an ongoing structural maintenance program
involving platforms Ellen and connected platform Elly.
C&W provided all personnel, equipment, materials, safety
staff and supervision necessary to complete the subsea
maintenance and diving services. The project was
successfully finished within the scheduled 2 week time
table

SAN DIEGO AIRPORT MEDIUM INTENSITY APPROACH LIGHTING
SYSTEM REPAIRS (MALSR)
Lindburgh Field Waterway, San Diego, Ca.

SCOPE OF WORK
Project included installation of a new lighting tower
system for San Diego Airport.
In the lagoon directly north of the runway where the
existing light towers were located. New towers were to
be installed approximately 5’ from location of existing
towers.
REQUIREMENTS
Divers were tasked with locating and marking existing
cables to avoid damage as new piles were installed.
Once new towers were in place a C & W diving crew
conducted cutting operations utilizing a hydraulic
underwater chainsaw to remove the existing piles.
Once piles were removed a diver set grounding rods at
each station and ran ground cable to tower junction box.

JF SHEA SURGE TOWER II / PHASE II (PILLOW PLUG
INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL)

SCOPE OF WORK
C&W was contracted to install a “pillow plug” into a
10’ diameter sewer outfall pipe in support of dewatering
operations being conducted on the surge tower II outfall
at the OCSD sanitation plant.
REQUIREMENTS
C&W divers were required to enter outfall pipe at the
western most junction box and drill holes for concrete
anchors. Anchors and plates were installed and plug was
attached to plates. Divers carried out a 900’
penetration to lay 1000’+ of hose for specialized
equipment. Once the plug was in place it was filled with
air and the channel was dewatered. An emergency standby
team was deployed while work was performed by JF Shea
crews inside the outfall. Once the work was complete and
the channel was flooded C&W divers were called back to
de–rig the plug and remove it.

SUGARLOAF DAM OUTLET WORKS STILLING BASIN CONCRETE
REPAIR
Sugarloaf Dam Leadville, Co

SCOPE OF WORK
C&W was contracted to dewater 2 spillways to expose
damaged concrete.
Demolition of existing spillway and basin, form/replace
concrete on 2:1 sloped
spillway and basin in both spillways totaling more than
1600sq. ft. of concrete removal and replacement.
REQUIREMENTS
Divers were required to dewater basins by placing
stop logs then pump water out to expose concrete to be
removed. Demolition of concrete on a 2:1 slope
using jack hammers in below freezing conditions was
encountered the C&W crew had to utilize various methods
to ensure concrete placement cured properly.Differing
site conditions made it necessary for the flat demo to
be completed using hydro blasting.

BAE SAN FRANCISCO DRYDOCK # 2 UT TESTING
BAE Shipyard, San Francisco, Ca.

SCOPE OF WORK
C&W Diving was contracted to perform UT reading on
dry dock #2 at BAE shipyard San Francisco.
REQUIREMENTS
Crews performed UT readings on all surfaces of an
800’ x 200’ dry dock using Cygnus 1 testers including
underwater portions and provided a full report to the
client in order to determine structural integrity of
hull plating.

W912BV-07-D-2020 CBP IMPERIAL BEACH SURF FENCE
SCOPE OF WORK C&W Diving was
contracted to perform diving services associated with
the replacement of the existing Imperial Beach Surf
Fence at the U.S./Mexico border. Work included:
installation of cathodic protection system, HPDE/EPDM
marine wrapping for sea/air corrosion protection, and
exothermic cutting of steel piles.
REQUIREMENTS Under strict
timelines, C&W mobilized a surface-supplied diving
system and performed work in the surf-zone at Imperial
Beach, California. Weather forecasting and resource
scheduling were the key components of success.
