SAN FRANCISCO OLD BAY BRIDGE PIER 3 DEMO

SCOPE OF WORK

Support foundation demolition by utilizing explosives to “implode” the first exposed foundation at pier E-3. Cutting underwater concrete steps into the foundation buttress walls to facilitate drilling 60.0’ plus feet into the bridge foundation to produce bore holes to receive explosives. Also, C & W supported; 1) hydrographic survey, 2) debris removal around foundation base, 3) installation of perimeter air bubble curtain to diminish the shock wave from explosion force, and 4) survey of foundation post implosion.

 

REQUIREMENTS

C & W provided USCG certified vessels to support KM JV work crews, Cal Trans engineers, regulatory environmental personal, and CA fish and game staff throughout the period of performance.

SCOPE OF WORK

Inspect Tower legs, determine means of repair to structure due to severe environmental deterioration. Repair legs with means suitable to SCE.

 

REQUIREMENTS

C&W has mobilized a (DSV) Dive Support Vessel with shallow water diving systems to Long Beach, Cerritos Channel, California. Work included installing pile jackets on legs, engineer and install splints on legs that require support due to corrosion.
